Breathing New Life Into an ’80s Villa
This project reimagined an outdated villa by rethinking every space, renewing its flow, and giving the existing furniture a fresh, contemporary soul.

The original ground-floor layout was reorganized to create a larger living and dining area, alongside a renovated kitchen, bathroom and entrance. A multifunctional room was also introduced, combining guest accommodation with a dedicated TV area.

The original layout, with three bedrooms and one shared bathroom, was largely preserved. The main intervention was in the master bedroom, where an en-suite bathroom and a walk-in closet were added to improve comfort, privacy and functionality.

Rewriting the Architecture of Everyday Living
The transformation of this 1980s villa began with one intention: create a home that feels open, coherent, and deeply connected to the way its family lives today.
The day area was expanded by removing an old bedroom, allowing the living and dining spaces to grow and breathe as one unified environment. At the entrance, an outdated 80s closet was redesigned and refreshed to form a modern mudroom that welcomes and organizes daily life. A wood-panelled wall now gently separates the day zone from the night zone, guiding movement while preserving privacy.
To one side, the kitchen was completely redesigned and rebuilt, improving functionality and light. To the other, a generous living–dining room opens as the social heart of the home.
The upper floor was rethought with the same logic of clarity and purpose. What was once a small secondary living room with a kitchenette became a full master suite — complete with walk-in closet and a newly designed master bathroom. The two existing bedrooms were reconfigured into a boy’s room and a girl’s room, and the only bathroom on the floor was transformed into a functional children’s bathroom through a complete layout reorganization.
The project extended beyond the interior: the garden was redesigned with three distinct zones — a playground, a barbecue area, and a relaxation space — turning the exterior into a true extension of the home.
